Central 14---Wylie 3

GAME 9: Wylie High School (District)
In a showdown between two undefeated teams in district 12-4A, the Scots came away with their sixth consecutive District Championship with a
14-3 win over the Wylie Pyrates. The game was a defensive battle in the first half with the Pyrates getting inside the Scot 20 yard line on two occasions, only to be stopped by the stingy Scot defense. Wylie kicked a field goal early in the third quarter before the Scots put together what would become the game winning drive. Sophmore Quarterback Matt Stafford hit sophmore Jake Feldt in the endzone on a throwback play that broke wide open. The TD put the Scots ahead 7-3. The Pyrates put togeter another strong drive late in the fourth quarter only to be stopped again by the swarming Scot D on a 4th and 8 situation inside the Scot 30. When Central took over on downs, they marched 70 yards for their second touchdown, which ultimatley sealed the victory and the 12-4A crown for the Scots. Up next for Central will be the West Mesquite Wranglers in the final home game of the season at Highlander Stadium. Game time is 7:30.
