School Site Manager grew out of implementation of custom-built school Web sites by applying the advantages of content management technology to school Web sites. This solves problems of functionality and maintainability and lessens the workload of school technical staff by empowering those who have the information to submit it to the site. Custom software is now delivered as an online service allowing the benefits of this approach to be offered at a very affordable price. School Site Manager was the first in a series of products and services for schools and school districts, and led to Edclick.
Prior to forming Edclick, Dr. Tennant spent 14 years at Texas Instruments, was a TI Fellow, Chief Technologist of the Information Technology Group and conducted research into various aspects of computing technologies. He hosted and was responsible for the technical content of TI's series of internationally broadcast Artificial Intelligence Satellite Symposia.
Dr. Tennant is the author of the book, Natural Language Processing: An Introduction to an Emerging Technology, which appeared in 1981. He has published professional papers on natural language processing and computing environments as well as many popular articles on artificial intelligence and the future of computing.
Dr. Tennant was selected as one of 100 Outstanding Scientists under age 40 by Science Digest magazine.
