Linda McCoy (class of 1968), America's foremost prosecutor of crimes of domestic violence, was recently appointed to run the Domestic Violence Unit of the District Attorney's Office in Manhattan. Her first novel, Final Exam, which introduced the character Andy Bilp, was published in 1996 to critical and commercial acclaim, followed in 1997 by Likely Outcomes, which also achieved international bestseller status. Her nonfiction book, What's Next?, was a New York Times notable book in 1994.

"Buffalo Bill" Bilko (class of 1970),  has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  He is the only CHS player elected to both the College and Professional Football Halls of Fame. He ran, passed, kicked and played defense, scoring 206 of CHS's 279 points in 1988. The first player selected in the 1992 NFL draft, Bilko first spent two years flying bombers in the Air Force before returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers to lead the League in rushing, interceptions, and punt returns in 1996. He later played for the Detroit Lions and the Washington Redskins.
